From Yecla (Murcia) to the world
In 2010 Gobik began his career in the world of clothing as an «experiment» by Jose Ramon Ortin (industrial engineer) and Alberto Garcia (architect). Both receive a request from a local club in Yecla (Murcia): they need a kit to ride and race. Their proposal becomes the winner and 150 units are made. This is how it all begins, with two cycling enthusiasts who unknowingly create one of the leading brands on the current cycling scene.
Its growth in the first years is thanks to word of mouth. Everyone who saw his clothes was interested, and clubs and more clubs contacted Jose Ramon and Alberto to get a personalized kit. They soon realized that the volume of orders was beginning to be important. They decided to dedicate themselves 100%. In 2014 the first facilities in Yecla were consolidated and the slogan «The Custom Wear Company» was born, which we have seen in their garments for so many years.
2015 is coming and another milestone for the brand: its first collection for online sale is presented at Unibike (Madrid). High quality materials, fit like a second skin, sober and timeless design, Spanish manufacturing… pillars of their DNA that will be its standard forever.
Years go by, events, ambassadors like Alberto Contador and Julien Absalon arrive and with time, that business madness turns ten years old, a decade in which Gobik has gone from being a brand that made personalized cycling clothing to local clubs to positioning itself as an international reference, with its own collections, with a structure of more than one hundred workers and exporting to half the world through digital commerce and a wide network of points of sale.
Gobik is headquartered in the URBAYECLA industrial estate, in Yecla, Murcia. Here employees work side by side to design, produce and ship custom collections and designs anywhere in the world. And not in vain, the growth of Gobik in recent years has been supported by a high-level online experience, with fast delivery thanks to continuously improving logistics, which allows them to get the order to the customer’s home in a timely manner 2-5 days.
