Quad Lock: Tripod/Selfie Stick
In this article we review Quad Lock’s new tripod or selfie stick.
If you’re a photographer, content creator and like me, a cyclist, you’ll always want to be ready to accurately capture the best moments of your bike rides. Also, sometimes you don’t have friends who can take photos or videos of you, and you need to use your wits to capture yourself.
Quad Lock’s new Tripod/Selfie Stick allows you to take perfectly steady shots from any angle, quickly converting from a sturdy tripod to a handy selfie stick in just seconds, allowing you to easily switch between the two in any situation.
Designed with the famous Australian brand’s patented lock, the tripod/stick will keep your phone safe and secure when you’re shooting on the go.
Design and Features
The tripod function provides a stable and secure base for capturing long exposure shots, timelapse videos and group photos, while the selfie stick allows us to take stunning portraits and first-person videos from different angles.
All we have to do is adjust the angle of the head, which features a 270-degree articulation, and the length of the tripod/stick to our liking. And without the need for screws or tools, thanks to a friction hinge with a really robust feel.
We can of course also use it as a stable base for our phone on any surface, even on our desk, to make video calls.

Test
The first thing that strikes us is its compact size when fully folded. Thanks to its compound hinge mechanism, the tripod reduces its length to the maximum, being little longer than the size of its legs:
Unfolding its hinge, we would have a first height, the lowest of the tripod, which will allow us to take shots almost at ground level:
Thanks to its telescopic arm we have 3 extra heights, to be able to raise it above the ground up to 46 cm high, which is quite a lot, considering the compact size of the accessory:
Now we only have to extend the legs of the base and place it in the desired position:
On the move
I have been regularly using this accessory on my bike rides, and I can only have good words for its good design and great performance. Its construction is of great quality, with a sturdy feel to the hinge that gives a lot of confidence. It can be positioned in many ways, with multiple rotation angles to adapt to the shot we want to capture.
It is relatively light for its extension. I have had other portable tripods that have weighed very similar, but they are much less extendable and of course do not carry the Quad Lock locking system. It fits perfectly in my jersey pockets or my front bag on my gravel bike.
The legs of the base provide good stability and have rubber on the ground contact area to improve the grip on any surface. It is very easy to place the tripod perfectly aligned.
Thanks to the Quad Lock fixing system, we can place the phone in landscape or portrait mode and we know that it will not fall off the stand no matter what we do.
Conclusion
A must-have accessory for photographers, content creators and, of course, photo-obsessed cyclists like yours truly.
