Absolute is without a doubt the most popular GOBIK shorts. Widely known and used by amateur and professional cyclists, it is a garment that has earned its well-deserved reputation. For this review we have selected one of the colors that we like the most, released last season but which has already become a classic: Army green. It allows us to combine with almost any other color and it looks really good:

The straps are the first thing that catches our attention. They are already old acquaintances and we love them. They have a really well achieved elasticity and pressure point, providing a lot of comfort. Their placement is also very well studied, so that they sit well in the middle part of our shoulders, without approaching to the neck:

A look at the inside of the garment reveals the brand’s passion for details, with motivating phrases that make us feel that we are dealing with unique garments, made by people like us, who live for and for cycling:

What can we say about the K10 chamois that we haven’t already said. It is one of the reasons for the great success of the brand’s shorts, for their comfort, breathability and fit. Manufactured exclusively for GOBIK by the world leader Elastic Interface:

Its high-density foam ensures a performance of up to 8 hours, with a very breathable and bacteriostatic carbon fabric. It has a double channel structure that is responsible for collecting sweat and transporting it away from the main contact area, keeping our skin dry and comfortable:

The area of the elastics receives several innovations, with reflective woven strips and the GOBIK logo integrated in negative, with a sober and clean appearance that we have loved. It is also perforated to improve breathability:

The inner part incorporates silicone around the perimeter, which, added to the good elasticity of the straps, guarantees a good coupling with our thighs:

On route

We have thoroughly tested the Absolute bib shorts, as they are a common garment for our training and long-distance outings, so as soon as we tried this new version, we were able to immediately see that it maintains the concept and character of the garment, but updating it with small improvements that make it shine even more.

The new leg straps are very comfortable, fitting perfectly and are more breathable as they are perforated. Visibility in low light conditions has gained ground, as they include reflective around the perimeter of the leg. Good for these details.

If you have never tried an Absolute short, you will fall in love on the first ride. The coupling of its straps, lower abdomen area and chamois is spectacular. It is a second skin that does not move, does not rub and makes you enjoy the route without discomfort. The K10 chamois is a plus, flawless as always. It stays dry and has a medium thickness, perfect for us.

Cosmetic enhancements keep it up to date, with a compelling understated look that we’ve loved. The inclusion of a new color such as Slate gray gives us the option of fleeing from the trite and classic black, although for us the clear aesthetic winner is Army green, which has us in love and goes with everything.

Final Verdict

GOBIK has managed to maintain the best of a garment that is already at a high level, adding specific improvements and further expanding the aesthetic offer. It is a recipe that can not fail and so we testify. Absolute 5.0 is a fantastic revision of the Spanish manufacturer’s best-selling bib shorts and assures another season of success.
