GOBIK Revolution, bib shorts
In this article: review and opinion of the GOBIK Revolution Ferro 2022 bib shorts
GOBIK Revolution is a novelty for the Warm Series 22 (summer range). It is based on the Absolute World Tour pro shorts used by the UAE Team Emirates team during the 2021 season. It incorporates the popular K10 chamois and features new 4-way stretch fabric, an extra leg length and new silicone elastics and logos. It comes in two colors:

From the Tour to your legs
After the incorporation of GOBIK as the official supplier of cycling clothing to the UAE Team Emirates professional team, many of us were anxiously waiting for some of their garments to reach the general public, to the manufacturer’s general collection. And after this first year 2021 of collaboration, we have the first fruits. Very recently we were able to enjoy the Armour and Envy jackets and now it is the turn of the coveted World Tour shorts.
Being able to use a short that has been created with the help and experience of a professional cycling team is a sure value. In its design, a large number of opinions have been taken into account, both from staff and riders, channeled and screened by the brand to obtain a product that satisfies the entire team and is very versatile. And from this crucible of designs, tests at the highest level, comes to us, amateur cyclists of all conditions, a short prepared to assume the highest performance and give 100% in the harshest conditions.
Let’s take a closer look at what it can offer us.
Revolution in detail
We start our usual tour of the garment with an overview. As always, a large set of labels accompanies the product. In them we can see the full range of chamois from the specialized manufacturer Elastic Interface and advice on washing and care.
The first thing that catches our attention are the suspenders, old acquaintances of ours, since they have been integrated into the Absolute bib shorts for 2 seasons. They are made of an elastic fabric that molds perfectly to our body, with a very well achieved tension, neither tight nor loose. The motivating phrases with which the brand permeates the corners of its garments cannot be missing either, making them truly unique:
The fabric inherits the characteristic dry look and feel of the Gravity model, adaptable to the body in 4 directions and extremely light, in a commitment to materials that combine high density, high abrasion resistance and low weight. By the way, the shorts weigh 185 g on the scale in size XL.
In the photo we can see how the part of the abdomen and groin has a different fabric than the rest, more breathable:
If we see it against the light, we can appreciate all the micro-perforations it has, which will help to channel the air and enhance ventilation:
GOBIK uses the pads of the Italian specialist Elastic Interface, a reputed manufacturer with one of the best technologies in the sector and with OEKO-TEX® certifications (safe cycling pads free of chemicals harmful to health) and BLUESIGN® (certification of materials and fabrics that respect the planet).
The only novelty that the magnificent K10 presents is a new black color. It is a chamois that we have talked about many times, with an excellent ability to wick away sweat and great comfort for long routes:
The legs receive several innovations. The length is extended, something demanded by professional cyclists so that the bib shorts cover more of the thigh. The logo, for its part, adopts a minimalist aesthetic, integrated with silicone on the left leg:
Reflective inserts appear on the back of the thighs, to increase our visibility in low light hours:
And they also receive new elastics inside, with a vertical layout and where the brand’s motto also appears:
On route
Every time GOBIK designs a new bib shorts, it has to face a great responsibility. Not surprisingly, it is one of his star garments, highly appreciated for the comfort of its pads and the general fit, both by amateur and professional cyclists. The latter had required a series of changes, such as the longer leg length, which have been introduced in this version.
We have tested the shorts on our usual routes, keeping in mind previous models such as the Absolute 4.0 and Gravity, which we use daily in our training sessions and long-distance outings. The first impression when wearing the garment is that it fuses the best of both and adds other novel features that finish off the product.
The straps have always seemed insurmountable to us, and it inherits them directly from the Absolute range, while the fabric adopts that of Gravity, with excellent compression and feel. We add those extra centimeters of leg length, which allow us to correctly position the groin area without fear of falling short in the leg, and it is finished off with new reflectors and elastics.
The K10 chamois is impeccable as always, one of the brand’s hallmarks for which it is highly appreciated in the cycling universe. With a medium thickness, it fits perfectly, it does not bother, it does not bother, it cushions the pressure of the saddle and perspires and collects our sweat in a masterful way.
The new silicone elastics do their job very well, keeping the shorts glued to our legs without pressing or being loose.
The central fabric provides it with perfect ventilation, providing an extra airflow towards the chamois, reducing the discomfort caused by sweat and humidity in this area during long journeys.
Lastly, we did not want to leave out the class that exudes the garment, with a sober aesthetic accentuated by this magnificent Ferro colour, rarely seen and which gives it an unmistakable style.
Final Verdict
We can say that Revolution concentrates the best know-how of the brand in its long history of high-performance bib shorts. It combines the best fabrics, a chamois of the highest level, adjustments from the UAE Team Emirates and an unmistakable sober and elegant style. The result? Simply a masterpiece. The new reference.
