Giant Propel Advanced 2022: preview and details
Giant has just published (2021-07-21) the details and photos of the new Giant Propel Advanced Disc 2022 on its Japanese website. This includes the top-of-the-range SL version, as well as the PRO (intermediate) and Advanced (low).
With no clear release date yet, at least at Giant distributors and stores in Spain, in this article we show you all the available information on what will be the 2022 version of Giant’s most famous aero bike.
Giant Propel 2022 range
First we present the complete range of the Giant Propel for this year 2022. Keep in mind that some of the versions will not reach all countries:

- 1 SRAM Force eTap – 7.7 kg
- Giant Propel Advanced Pro Disc
- 0 SRAM Force eTap
- 1 SRAM Rival eTap – 8.0 kg
- Giant Propel Advanced Disc

- 2 Shimano 105 – 8.9 kg
Giant Propel Advanced SL Disc 2022
The new Propel Advanced SL 2022, top of the range of the Propel models, is presented for now with this 1 Disc version in «matt diamond black»:

Carefully reviewing the technical characteristics of the new Propel SL, we see that it exactly traces all the components of the 2021 model, there is no news in this regard, integrating the same SRAM Force eTAP AXS 12-speed group with Quarq power meter on the cranks. The only novelty for this 2022 is found in the aesthetic field, with new colors and a maximized GIANT logo.
Giant Propel Advanced Pro Disc 2022
The new Propel Advanced PRO 2022, intermediate range, is presented in 2 versions. The first and most advanced is the 0 Disc in «panther iris» color:

And the lowest is the 1 Disc version in color «matt starry night» color:

In this model we can see changes in the technical section, with the new SRAM RIVAL eTAP AXS 12-speed groupset with Giant Power Halo power meter integrated in the cranks. This groupset replaces the old 11-speed Shimano Ultegra. No weight has been published, but it is very likely that it will maintain the 8 kg of the previous model. Also as usual, it has new colors and new typography.
Giant Propel Advanced Disc 2022
The new Propel Advanced 2022, low-end, is presented in 2 versions. The most advanced is the 1 Disc in color «knight’s shield»:

It maintains the same technical components from 2021, with the Shimano 105 11-speed groupset. Its weight repeats in 8.9 kg. It also receives new colors and typography.
Flying since 2013
The Giant Propel is an aero bike classic, with a serious reputation built on countless innovations and an eye for detail since its introduction in 2013. The disc version was launched in 2018 as a replica of the bike for Michael Matthews of the Sunweb team, with which he won the green jersey of the Tour de France that same year.
