Yoeleo R12 Carbon Road Bike

LlargoBikereviews

The right bike can completely change your experience of cycling, and let’s be honest in saying there’s a huge amount of choice with so many brands popping up left, right, and center. We hear a lot about new bikes when they hit the market, but nothing like what we have heard about Yoeleo.

Everyone is speaking about Yoeleo because they seem to be going in the opposite direction to other brands. They offer performance bikes with excellent components but at half the price of many other brands. In this article, we’re going to discuss:

  • Who is Yoeleo?
  • The Yoeleo R12 Bike
  • How Did It Ride?
  • Should You Buy One?

Who Is Yoeleo?

Yoeleo has been around 12 years in total. They are a company based in Indonesia. They have been familiar with manufacturing bikes, and the majority of people who built the company came from the manufacturing departments of other brands.

They have been around for a while and have become very popular in recent years as they offer very high quality at a very low cost. They are becoming a leading carbon fiber manufacturer, and we can see why.

They make various bikes, from road racing, aero, gravel, mtb, and even time trial bikes. One of their most popular models is the Yoeleo R12; we have been lucky to test one.

The Yoeleo R12 Bike

Design

The first thing to mention is this bike’s incredible design. It’s an aero bike, so it’s made to go fast and for the wind to wrap around it. The bike looks fantastic, and you can tell it has had time in a wind tunnel. When being ridden, it feels quick, and you tell time was put into the positioning and the aesthetics. The frames have been UCI tested and are completely legal to race.

It doesn’t just look great, but it comes in a large variety of different sizes. You get 43cm all the way to 59cm, and there’s pretty much a bike to suit everyone. We also have to mention the huge range of colors it comes in as well. You currently get nine different options, and they even do custom spray paint as well.

We personally found the geometry to be very good, and although fast, it was still comfortable on longer rides too. It offers a great all-round experience feeling sporty but not aggressive, and that’s what many cyclists are looking for these days.

Gearing

Then we have gearing. There are three different models you can pick from when it comes to the R12. You get a Di2, PRO, and STD. The Di2 is equipped with Ultegra Di2, the PRO has mechanical Di2, and the standard comes with Shimano 105.

They are well geared, and with a 32 on the rear and semi-compact on the front, this is ideal, and it offers great ratios for the flats, climbing, and descending. You can change this out to anything you want later in time.

Wheelset

The wheels on this bike are incredible, and for what you are spending on this bike, you wouldn’t typically expect carbon fiber wheels. Being aero, you know they are going to be nice and deep. The bike we have came with 60mm deep wheels, which were tubeless ready right out of the box without even adding take.
They felt fast and very responsive, and of course, they even sounded pretty good too. They are 12mm thru-axles which we have come to expect on all modern road racing bikes, and they even came with a spares kit, including spokes and a few other bits, which was a lovely touch. The wheels have been UCI tested and are completely legal to race.

Finishing Kit

The stem and handlebars are completely integrated and look incredible. When buying the bike, you have to pick the size you want. It’s worth getting a tape measure to get it right first, but it also takes normal handlebars and stems, if required.

The seatpost is carbon fiber as well and has a lot of adjustability depending on your height. The bolt can be a little fiddly to get it tight on the frame, but with a longer Allen key, it’s much easier. We love the rail system on the top. It makes it very easy to adjust back and forth, and changing the saddle isn’t too bad either.

Warranty And Cost

Coming in at $4200, it is incredible value for money, and we think it’s fair. All the other brands seem to be much more expensive for a similar specification. If that wasn’t enough, you get a three-year warranty on the frameset, and you can make that lifetime for an extra $300. That shows a lot of confidence to me.

How Did It Ride?

It has been incredibly fun to ride, and it does offer an excellent experience. It feels fast on the flats, punchy when accelerating, and corners well, providing you have the confidence to lean it in. It is the kind of bike that feels really fun and inspires race confidence.

Should You Buy A Yoeleo R12

We were really impressed with the Yoeleo R12, and as far as value for money goes, it can’t be touched. Compared to the bigger brands, it just offers so much more. We highly recommend the Yoeleo to any cyclist who wants great performance at a good cost.

The only thing they are missing is the brand exposure that other companies have from being around for a longer periods. I would rather see myself with two Yoeleo’s than one other big brand bike. It’s only a matter of time before we see them grow.
