GOBIK Plus 2.0 Trooper
The GOBIK Plus 2.0 vest is one of the garments that we consider essential in every cyclist’s wardrobe. There are countless times it has saved us from sudden weather changes, in the cold hours of dawn or descending a climb. In this new version a series of changes have been incorporated that make it even more comfortable, always looking for the best adaptability and aerodynamics on the bike.

It is available in 2 versions for men, the Black Lead (black color) and the Trooper (olive green) that we tested in this article. There is also a specific version for women, in black.
An ultra light, comfortable and very useful garment
Few garments are as useful in cycling as a vest, it allows us to gain a plus of adaptation against the changing weather conditions. The GOBIK Plus 2.0 stands out for its ultralight weight, we simply do not notice that we are wearing it. Its size is tight, like all the manufacturer’s clothing, but at the same time it is very comfortable, because its anatomical design does not squeeze anywhere.
This 2.0 version of the GOBIK vest par excellence brings several novelties for the 2020-2021 season. Starting with a completely redesigned neck area, with a super soft fabric in the nape area that prevents friction in this part so in contact with our skin:
All the front fabric has a texture that favors air dissipation, ideal for a layer that will always be on the outside. It also integrates a double YKK zipper, perfect to open the lower part and handle the air that enters our body at will:
On the upper back, color details and reflective strip that give us an extra of visibility and safety:
In the lower back, two vents opened at a strategically placed height, connect seamlessly with the inside pockets of the jersey:
All the back fabric is made of a super breathable mesh, which helps in heat dissipation when we are doing full performance. The reflective strips also appear at the bottom:
The garment is completed with a side mesh pocket, which fulfills a double function, on the one hand it serves to house energy bars, wrappers and small things:
And on the other, it also helps us to pack the garment completely:
On Route
We have worn the Plus 2.0 vest on many winter outings, as a complement to the Cobble jersey on the coldest days and the Pacer or CX PRO on the warmer ones. Its comfort, lightness and performance make it an ace up your sleeve. If you go out at a good pace, you will agree with us that it is always better to wear a jersey together with a vest, because it allows you to vary your temperature very quickly and adapt to the ups and downs of the route.
The rear openings offer great access to the outer pockets of the jersey, although to access the center we have it a bit more complicated, but you can also. We found the neck area super comfortable, with an ultra-soft fabric that cares for the skin on the nape and prevents friction. And something where many other manufacturers fail but does not happen here: the armpit area does not bother due to its good elasticity.
Our opinion
This vest is a garment that we will never forget at home until very hot days into the summer. It is so practical and useful, it occupies and weighs so little that leaving it at house seems foolish. Bravo for GOBIK, once again a garment of 10.
As for sizing, in my case, for measurements 1.90 m (74″) in height and 77 kg (169 lbs) in weight, size L fits me like a glove.
